With just $1000 and trade knowledge gained from his father’s Texas flooring business, Joe Gutierrez built JJJ Floor Covering into one of Los Angeles’s most successful Hispanic businesses. A 1999 Los Angeles Times article covering the small business economy explained, “his JJJ Floor Covering Inc. helps form the backbone of Los Angeles’s County’s Latino business economy…”. Joe’s commitment to quality workmanship and customer service set the foundation for the company’s enduring success.

Recognized with dozens of awards including Starnet Design Gold and Bronze, JJJ has serviced premiere institutions like Kaiser Permanente, DaVita Inc., Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), The Boeing Company, Wells Fargo, Los Angeles Unified School District, Santa Ana Unified School District, the University of California system (UCI, UCLA), California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and many others. 

Now, JJJ is 100% owned by Joe’s widow, Maria Gutierrez. The company maintains its strong place in the community through its employees – whose average tenure is 12 years – and leadership from President, Jim Jeffries, a 25 year JJJ veteran.
